About the-green-house.co.uk

Environmental Impact RatingHere at the-green-house we aim to provide luxury holiday accommodation, combined with a respectful attitude to the environment.

When we were halfway through the conversion of Crossways barn it occurred to us that it was a very environmentally friendly building. It is a rescued redundant farm building (i.e. recycled) it has a low carbon footprint (underfloor heating powered by a wood pellet boiler) and even has eco-friendly guttering (really, we used it, because we just liked it).

Having now got it up and running as a holiday let we thought we could try again this time with something greener and more interesting (unusual). So through 2009 we will be converting an old garage and extending it underground, to make it into a completely off grid self sufficient building, with an A (100 sap) environmental impact rating.

We hope to offer it for holiday lets during the 2010 season...

If you would like to talk to us about green holidays, or have a property which might complement our ethos then we would love to hear from you.
